Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible. This page explains what that is, why, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Who we are

This website, savepointreview.com, is operated by the publisher of Save Point Review (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law. For any privacy matter, contact hello@savepointreview.com.

What we collect and why

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply and to keep a record of corrections. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in responding to enquiries. Messages are deleted within 12 months unless a longer record is needed, for example for a rights-holder request.

Server logs

Our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and troubleshooting, on the basis of legitimate interests, and is normally retained for no more than 30 days.

Measurement and advertising

We do not currently run analytics or advertising tags on this site, and we set no tracking cookies. If that changes, tags will load only after you give consent through a cookie banner, and this page will be updated first.

Things we do not do

  • We have no user accounts and no newsletter.
  • The game finder runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are not stored or transmitted.
  • We do not sell personal data or build profiles of visitors.

Links to other websites

Reviews link to official game websites and guides may link to public services. Those sites are run by other organisations with their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We do not pass any of your personal data to them.

Where data is processed

Data is stored with our hosting and email providers. Where they process data outside the UK, they rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To use any of these rights, email hello@savepointreview.com. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
